Good morning! I hope you are all well today! The sun finally came out yesterday afternoon and I was so happy to see some blue sky after 3 dreary days! Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For my second week as a guest designer we have a color challenge…

Two of the new In-Colors and and Chocolate Chip. I wanted to keep my card clean and simple. The base of the card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of Chocolate Chip for the background. Before I adhered it to the card I wrapped three pieces of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around it. The tree image is form the Evergreen Stamp Set. The solid image is stamped in Gumball Green and the outline is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I used the Merry Minis Punch Pack to punch out a piece of Summer Starfruit for the star on the top that is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. Both the image and the greeting are backed by some Gumball Green before being adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I definitely have to say that I wasn’t very fond of Summer Starfruit when I first saw it but it has become one of my favorite colors. I hope that you enjoyed my second card as guest designer with Create with Connie and Mary. Head on over to the site and see what the other design team members have come up with and post your card too! Thank you for visiting with me and have a wonderful day!

  7. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has grown to love Summer Startfruit! It has such a bad reputation 🙂 Love your take on Christmas. That tree is great – sort of reminds me of a Charlie Brown christmas tree for some reason!

    • Thanks Jen! I love Summer Starfruit, it’s not fair that it has a bad rap! I think if people thought of it more as a neutral they would like it more. It does have a little bit if a Charlie Brown feel! 😉
