Hello there! How are all of you doing today? I’m good, I have to run into Manhattan tonight after work so it’s going to be a very long day! I’m hoping to not sleep past my stop on the way home, I have done that before and it’s not fun at all! It was rainy and overcast here again yesterday and is supposed to get much colder. I think we are supposed to get some snow tonight too, hopefully only a dusting. On a side note the 2013 Spring Catalog is one of the featured catalogs on the Google Catalogs App for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices. Go to your App Store and download your free copy and take the catalog with you!
For today’s post I have my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. This week our sketch is provided by Linda…
A super clean and simple sketch indeed! In the spirt of trying to get some Valentine’s card ideas that’s what I went with. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Pool Party on the bottom left and some Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper** on the top right. For some separation I punched out a piece of Primrose Petals with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it diagonally. The images are from the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and they are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. The greeting is from the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I’m really liking the Pool Party and Primrose Petals together and the Sycamore Street DSP from Sale-A-Bration is one of the best yet! I hope that you “loved” my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card for this week. I also hope that you are getting those lists ready for Sale-A-Bration, it’s almost here! Thanks for checking in with me and I hope you have a fun day! 🙂

Lovely Valentine’s card…those colors are just so pretty together!
I had to laugh about sleeping through your train stop. I used to live in NJ and commuted on the Path from Hoboken to NY…..I fell asleep, all the people got off the train and the conductor had to come wake me up. Boy, was I embarrassed!!!
Thanks LeAnne!
LOL! I have not woken up when arriving at Penn and almost went back and slept past my stop on the way home a few times! Glad to know I’m not alone! 🙂
Really nice card for Valentine’s Day. I really like those framelits!
Thank you Sherri! The Framelits are great! 🙂
Great card for what I think is a difficult sketch. The framelit pieces work great for the diagonal area.
Thank you a very much Sandy! Have a super day!! XO
You are really into the Valentines spirit Justin! Pretty card and I like the sketch way better in portrait as you have done. You are in love with the new goodies – using lots! I have nothing out of the new mini as yet. It is heating up here again as it cools down for you over there!
Thank you Jean! I’m trying to get ahead! I do love the new goodies! You’ll have some soon enough! Send some of your hot weather here please! I’ll be glad to send you some cold! 🙂
Love these colors together! Pretty Valentine!
Thanks Linda! 😉
Fantastic Valentine Justin! I think Pool Party should be a new official Valentine’s Day colour! The hearts look so sweet! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thank you Jennifer! I totally agree with you about Pool Party! Have a great week! 🙂
This is a great card – I love the use of that blue for Valentines, sort of non-traditional. I am learning a lot from following you. I never thought much about sketches – but since I’ve seen what you do with them it makes more sense to me. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Thanks Lin! I love Pool Party, is a great color for so much. I’m so glad to have you here and to say that you are learning… Wow! Sketches are a great jumping off point, like a blank palette for you to fill in! Have a great day! 😉
Love the card, Justin!
Thank you Martha!
What a fun Valentine card this is Justin! The colours are clean and fresh and super pretty!
