A good Sunday to you all! My Saturday didn’t turn out quite the way I had envisioned. I had breakfast with my friend Joe and that was very nice. I came home and started working on some projects and then my friend from work texted me to say that she couldn’t go to Manhattan. Bummer! I decided that it was way too nice of a day so I called my friend Louis and we went for a ride in the convertible and did some shopping. After, we had some gyros for dinner and they were delicious! So not a bad day after all. I will have to postpone my reviews for another time. LOL!
Today I have a double post, I don’t know where the week goes sometimes! It’s Freshly Made Sketches 100th Challenge! How great is that?!?! I have been playing along since sketch 38, so that 62 sketches! Pretty cool! For the 100th challenge they brought back the sketch from their very first one…
I went for a retro feel to my card with some new products to sort of pay tribute to the sketch. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Delicate Details Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake to go across the lower half of the card. The tilted panel is a piece of Midnight Muse, embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. For the greeting I used the new Cheers Single Stamp, again stamped in Midnight Muse and backed with Crisp Cantaloupe. I flagged a little piece of Midnight Muse to go across the top that mirrors the stamped part of the bottom of the greeting. An ornament from the Christmas Collectibles Stamp Set that I inked in Crisp Cantaloupe and punched out with the Christmas Ornament Punch completes the card. I really like the Midnight Muse and Crisp Cantaloupe paired with the Crumb Cake, I think it makes and interesting combo!
My second card today is for the ladies over at Just Add Ink! I thought the sketch was really cool and perfect for the Rev Up the Fun! Stamp Set…
My card base for this card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smokey Slate stamped with some Gorgeous Grunge in Pacific Point, I rounded the corners with the 1″ Circle Punch. All of the images and greeting are from the Rev Up the Fun! Stamp Set except for the flag that is stamped with one of the Paper Pumpkin Stamps. The tire marks and dust are stamped in Basic Black and the car in Pacific Point. For the greeting I used some Versa-Mark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Ovals Collection Framelits Dies are used to cut it out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The images from the stamp set are fun and help to make a great masculine card that would work for any age.
Thank you, as always, for stopping by to see my post for Freshly Made Sketches 100th anniversary and Just Add Ink sketch challenge 179. It’s always great to have you check in and I hope that you enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

Great cards Justin, especially like the Joy Ride one, it’s a set on my wishlist for the males in the family.
Thank you Carolyn! It is definitely a good male set! 🙂
Beautiful cards. Love that little puff of smoke behind the car. hehe
Thanks Cynthia! Have a great day! 🙂
Both are great cards, but I particularly like the colors you chose for the Christmas card. Beautiful!
Thank you very much Brian! I will definitely use the colors again! Have a great day! 🙂
I love the colors for the Christmas card, too!
Thanks Sandy! Enjoy your day! 🙂
WOW You always come up with such different colors for your cards! Both are gorgeous.
One (probably dumb) question: when participating in this challenge, do you have to use ONLY current SU products? I want to try some of them (if I can ever figure out how to post them properly that is), they look like so much fun.
Have a great day! Weather is beautiful here today.
Thank you Louise! I’m particularly fond of the Christmas one!
Not a dumb question, no, they usually specify if you need to use a certain type of product so retired should be fine! They are a lot of fun and a good way to have a starting point!
You have a great day too! 🙂
Justin, both cards are absolutely stunning! You never cease to amaze me with your great eye for card creating! Thanks for always sharing such wonderful and inspiring cards.
Thank you very much Amy! So glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day! 🙂
You rocked them both…as usual! Love the colors on the FMS card. Your stamp choice is perfect for the sketch! Thanks for being a part of the success of our challenge. I look forward to your creations every week!
Thanks Jen! I look forward to playing every week! Enjoy your day! 🙂
Fabulous cards, Justin! I never would’ve thought to use the colour combo you chose for the Christmas card, but it works beautifully. Nice job! As for the second card – wow! Love your colour choices (again!), and that fun stamp set was a perfect choice for our sketch at Just Add Ink this week. Glad you could play along with us again!
Thank you Christine! I have been wanting to try the color combo for a while. I love the sketch this week at JAI! Enjoy your week! 🙂
Hi Justin, I think your Joy Ride card is perfect for the challenge this week at Just Add Ink, really like the elements you’ve combined and your colour choices here. I’m actually revising my next order so I can purchase both of those sets.. So glad you could join us again (with the right card, LOL) at Just Add Ink. Carolyn x
LOL! Thank you Carolyn! The stamp sets are both a lot of fun! An order revision huh… cool! My work here is done! Ha, yeah the right card is always key! XO
Hi Justin, I love both your cards, as usual! I’ve had the joy ride set for a little while now trying to come up with different ideas! Wish I lived closer (the same country would even be nice!) so we could go joy riding in the convertible and shopping, sounds like a perfect Saturday to me! I’m sure we’d get along! ;). I love the Christmas card colour combo too, really nice.
Btw – finally got my Utah trip partly blogged and our photo is on there. I will also email it to you. Lou xx
Hello Lou!
Glad you like the cards! I wish you lived closer too! I’m sure that we would have a great time! Have you ever been to NY? If not you definitely need to come! I’ll pick you up from the airport in the convertible and we’ll go straight to the mall! I did see the pics earlier and will go and look again! It really was a highlight to meet you at convention! 🙂
XO
Great cards! I so agree on your unusual color choices…wonderful! And love the grunge stamps on the second card…. Really enjoy your creativity!
Thank you very much Carol! The grunge goes really well with the Rev Up the Fun! Set! And I really like different color combos! 🙂
What fun the Joy Ride car card is! Very cool!
I Love Polka-Dots, everything! Wish you would do more with “Gorgeous Grunge
Excellent job on both cards!!!!
Thank you Vicki! I will have to use Gorgeous Grunge in the future then! Have a great day! 🙂
Absolutely the perfect card for boys of any age Justin! The blue looks stunning against the neutral background – but I think your car might need a tune up – all that smoke and splutter 😉 Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink.
Thank you Kim! The smoke is actually grave being kicked up as it peels away! LOL!! Have a great week!
Great cards, Justin! Love the unexpected color combination for the holiday card. Great look! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks Cindy! Have a great week! 🙂
Love your card Justin, as always beautiful execution! So…l gather by the gravel comment, you’re a bit of a demon behind the wheel..:0) Love the Smoky Slate/Pacific Point combo…Perfect for a guy card! Great to see you join in again at Just Add Ink.
Thanks Nikki! LOL! Not as much of a demon as I used to be! Enjoy your week! 🙂

I love the Joy Ride card to Justin – inspired by your ride in the convertible I imagine. Chantell JAI
Thanks Chantell! Yes, it was inspired by my convertible ride! 🙂
Justin, you know I always love your cards, but this one is super–so edgy and fun. The black, the blue, the gray, the race car, but best of all, the saying. It all really works; it’s wonderful!
Thanks Georgie! It is a fun card! I haven’t used Pacific Point in a while, I forgot what a nice color it is. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Congrats Justin, Fabulous card for the JAI sketch. Carolyn
Thank you very much Carolyn! Woo hoo! 🙂
