Pals Paper Arts 83 & Sneak Peek

Posted on

It’s the weekend peeps! Woo hoo! I had a pretty good day at work yesterday. I got to have a staged fight with a trainer that was teaching an investigation class. All of the people in the class thought the fight was real, it was great! LOL! I went to a Stamp-A-Tag at Sandy’s last night, that’s always fun! Today… lots to do and I have my “work” holiday party tonight. Oh, and it’s sneaker Saturday too! Let’s see what I can get done!

Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank the amazing Mary Fish for selecting my card as her pick for last week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge. You can see my original post here and the Pals Paper Arts winners post here. Now this week from Pals we have a color challenge…

PPA 183

I was going to do a Christmas card but I really want to keep those sneak peeks coming so I went with a birthday card instead! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder** to emboss a piece of Wild Wasabi and backed it with a piece of Rose Red for my background. The greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set* and is stamped once in Rose Red and the again in Wild Wasabi so I could punch out the “a” with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and pop it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. I stamped it on one of the tags from the Stamp a Tag kit and tied a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine in a bow on top. The pinwheels are from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set* and are stamped in Rose Red and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card in a cog like pattern. I love the Decorative Dots Folder, it looks a little like confetti and makes a great background for a birthday card! Thank you for checking in with me today to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge. I really do appreciate your visits and comments, have a super Saturday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin! Great card! Those little pinwheels do look like they could turn like cogs. Love that. I have to say that the tag punches are definitely a favorite of mine and I love the way you added the little hole in the tag in the contrasting color. Have fun at your work party tonight! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for another wonderful sneak peek!!

    • Hello Karen from snowy Long Island!
Thank you, they do look a little cog like don’t they?! The Tag Punches are fun! I hope the snow doesn’t cancel the party! You enjoy your weekend too! 🙂

  2. Justin, This is such a happy card!! It could have easily been a Christmas card with a different sentiment. The starbursts look like peppermints!! Enjoy your work party! Hope you don’t get as much snow as they are predicting for Jersey.

  3. Oh man Justin! First of all congratulations on being Mary’s PPA pick – she is so amazing and what a thrill to be recognized by her. Second – only you could turn Starburst circles into cog wheels. I just love it! So now, if we turn the top one will they all go around? LOL

This would be a perfect design for a presentation card for the Make A Wish Foundation. On the inside they could put “your wish is granted” or something like that. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Well, party hardy tonight but, if the weather is bad hunker down wherever you are and wait out the storm. Not worth traveling if what they are predicting comes to fruition. Be safe and enjoy.

WOW! That’s a great idea! That would be amazing!
I hope the snow doesn’t cancel the party! If it’s 4 inches I think we’ll be good. Have a lovely day! 🙂

  4. Kudos on the PPA pick. Your card is awesome! It could be used for so many themes. The starburst fits nicely together. I agree with the others, looking likes cogs and I think of saltwater taffy being wiggled through making candy. Woke up to snow and it’s still coming down. Perfect day to make sugar cookies and the Christmas music is playing.
