Paper Players 184

Posted on

Hello my friends, how was the weekend? Mine was good. It was a very nice day here yesterday we got up to 58 degrees, yes the top was down in the car! I have been waiting months to put it down! I did some crafting in the morning and then spent the rest of the day with my friend Heather. We ran some errands and then just hung out at her house and talked and laughed. I love days spent with my friends, they really are the best!

It’s Monday so that means it time for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a sketch from Jaydee…

Paper Players #184

I really love the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper, it has great colors and nice soft patterns and images. My card today starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. Next up is a Tea Lace Paper Doily that helps to anchor the greeting. Before that, a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangerine Tango and Silver Foil Sheet go across the middle. My greeting is from the You’re Lovely Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration and is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Two Basic Jewels Rhinestones on either side give it a little sparkle. Even though the DSP doesn’t list Crisp Cantaloupe I think it works really well with it, especially with the Tangerine Tango. And there you have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Jaydee. I really do appreciate your stopping by and also taking time to leave a comment. You guys make my day every day! Have a great Monday everyone! 🙂

  1. I see how easily your card came together once you had all the elements in place. Stampin Up hit a ‘grand slam’ with Watercolor DSP! Just can’t get enough of it. The doily adds just another level of softness. Who wouldn’t like to receive this in the mail.

  4. Hello Justin! What a pretty card! Love the softness to it. I need to use that paper more often! Sounds like you had a fun day yesterday…we are not in convertible weather yet. Another week of very cold temps. 😦 Ugh. Have a great Monday!

    • Thank you very much Kay! Yes, sprain will come eventually right?! I think it was the warm weather that we had over the weekend that inspired the card! It’s cold again today. I hope you have a great Monday! 🙂

  8. Hi Justin – so glad you had a great weekend! If I had to describe this card in one word it would be “Victorian”. I can picture this in the center of a table with china tea cups and finger sandwiches. Just beautiful. Great job! Our weekend was busy with lots of company which is unusual for us. Met some new people and really enjoyed just sitting around and yakking. Very relaxing. Have a Marvelous Monday!

    • Hello Grace!
Yes, I do love time with my peeps! The card does have a victorian feel to it definitely. I love your description! It’s nice to busy with company instead of tasks though isn’t it?! Chatting is by far the best! I’m happy that you had a good weekend! have a great Monday! 🙂

Ooooo, nice switch-a-roo here with the sentiment and the strips left-justified instead of on the right!! I really like the Crisp Cantaloupe with the Tangerines Tango too!!! I am intimidated by these large flowers (peonies I’m guessing?) on this sheet of DSP, but now I know exactly what I can do to make a card that is balanced and truly lovely Justin!!! Thank you for the awesome ideas!!! 🙂 Time with our friends is definitely precious!!!

    • Thank you Laurie! I’m not sure what kind of flowers they are but they are nice and soft even though they are quite large. So happy you like the card!! Friends really the best! Have a great day! 🙂

  12. So pretty. I love when I beautiful piece of DSP can be the focal point of a card, and the doily and sentiment you chose work perfectly with it. Always happy to see you playing along at The Paper Players, Justin:)
