Fab Friday 52

Posted on

Do you now what day it is?! I’ll bet you do! Yes… it’s FRIDAY! I had the best day ever at work yesterday! My entire department was out at an event and I was the only one in the office! I got lots of stuff done and even got to have some lunch with my friend Shane. It really was the best day ever!! LOL! I’m getting a haircut after work today and will be off to Manhattan tomorrow to drop off a Stampin’ Up! order to my friend Isabella. Andrew will be joining me and we are going to wander around a bit. Hopefully the rain that we are supposed to get doesn’t last all day or even better, finishes really early!

Every other Friday is a even better because it’s a Fab Friday! It’s time for our nest challenge and this time we have a some colors for you…

Fab Fri 52 10-10-2014

I debated about what I was going to do for a bit and I kept coming back to the same idea so I ran with it! The base of today’s card is Tangelo Twist Card Stock and the background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss with a piece of Basic Black behind it. I stamped the greeting from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My wreath is from the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Tangelo Twist and cut out with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.I heat embossed the berries with more Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, I didn’t let the black ink dry completely so I would get that speckled look on the leaves. The spider in the middle is from the Bite Me Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed too and then fussy cut with my Paper Snips. The string is also from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit and the spider and wreath are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three sequins from the Frosted Sequins Pack are adhered by the greeting to complete the card. I think that I was channeling our Frightful Wreath when I made this card! I like the way the wreath pops off of the Blackberry Bliss background and the Silver Embossing gives it a little added dimension. I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Hi Justin, this certainly is a FAB card for Fab Friday. Using the wreath for a Halloween card in the way you did is great. I think this stamp & die set just keeps going…it is so versatile. All your heat embossing really makes this card eerily elegant. Have a wonderful day.

  4. Hi Justin:

Boy, you are certainly opening my eyes to the fact that this wreath doesn’t have to be limited to Christmas cards. Your Halloween card is super and I especially like the way you hung the spider from the wreath! Very, very cool.

Have fun in Manhattan tomorrow. Wish I was going to be there. I bet a day with you and Andrew would be a hoot! Have fun and enjoy the weekend. Looking forward to seeing the photos and tell Andrew he is sooooooooo overdue with a new card. 🙂

It really is a great set and people have wreaths for all sorts of holidays now! Thank you! I am hoping that it doesn’t rain all day! Keep your fingers crossed! I unfortunately don’t have a long weekend, I have to work Monday. I will mention it to Andrew again!! LOL! 🙂

  8. I have to say, this utterly surprised and impressed me, because when I say the challenge colors, I thought, ‘what on earth could anybody do with that ugly color combination?’ Ha! I should have known you would turn it into something wonderful! And since I’m kinda HUNG UP on wreaths lately (ba da dum), this just struck me as so cool. Plus I think spiders are fascinating: they make SILK! Looking 4ward to Manhattan pictures.

  10. Wow love the colours and love the card. Your blog is fast becoming my fave and the one I read first! It’s really cool how you combine life stuff and your cards, I’m british so my efforts to blend the two always start with the weather! I’m just starting out as a demo and you spark so many ideas for me. Thanks Justin 🙂
