Well that was a very nice Friday! Work was quiet and the day went quick. Dinner was very tasty. I had the Blue Cheese Stacked Burger and endless Sweet Potato fries (4 servings to be exact!) and we even had some Brownie Obsession for dessert, you have to mix it up sometimes! Today will be a get some stuff done sort of day. I’m going to watch the wee ones for a bit this morning and then a haircut (finally!) at 1:45. After that who knows!
My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Resident artist Jen T. has given us this great sketch to work with…
I needed a collage card and for some reason when I looked at the sketch I saw tickets! My card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and some Night of Navy and Encore Gold Metallic Ink to randomly stamp one of the images a few times. My tickets are a piece of Crumb Cake that I sponged with Night of Navy and and some paper from the Etcetera Designer Series Paper Pack, the corners are punched with the Ticket Corner Punch and they are adhered at angle to each other and to the card base. There is also a small piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape on the right. The greeting is stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla that I sponged with some Pool Party. The stamped images are from the Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Night of Navy. My ampersand is a piece of adhesive cork sheet that I cut out with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies. The heart was in the scrap pile and just wanted to put on there! A piece of crumb cake is stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and the Small Heart Punch and 1″ Circle Punch punch it out. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet is cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the heart/circle and butterfly are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few random sequins complete the card. Collage style is definitely my favorite and you can keep it pretty clean for a collage. I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Jen T. Thanks a lot for visiting and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you Gerri!
Love to mix in all of the goodies!
You enjoy your weekend too! 🙂
Another great collage. I have yet to use cork on a project. It adds a different element and goes well with your card. Really like the grunge splats in the background. Yes, you need to mix it up. Don’t want to get stuck in a rut. Your supper sounds yummy!
Thanks Lisa! I love the cork sheet, it cuts nicely and the adhesive is great! I need to tint it the next time I use it. Mixing it up is fun! Supper was delicious! Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂
Very catchy card! So much to look at! The embossed gold heart stole my heart. Cork, grunge, and dimension…way to go! Love it. Have a beautiful weekend! Hope the kiddies are good! Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! Lots of different that works, my favorite! The kiddies were awesome! Love those little munchkins! Have great weekend! 🙂
Hi Justin – I don’t usually care for collage cards or grunge but for some reason I really like this card even though it is so far out of my style. I’m still trying to figure out why I like it but that really doesn’t matter – all that matters is I do right? I have had the cork for quite a while now and still haven’t used it. I need to start thinking outside the box for sure. Really, I never thought I’d ever see a collage card I liked. You got me! LOL
Hello Grace!
Oh no! They really are my favorite type of card! I’m glad that you like this one, they can tend to be overdone and it’s hard to find a good balance, but every once in a while it works! You need to use the cork! It adds a great element! I’m so happy that I did get ya! Have a wonderful day! 🙂
Wowza! *LOVE* your design, Justin. The sentiment with the hearts captures my heart, and the Gorgeous Grunge splatter background gives me a feel of a celebration explosion. Your tickets add interest with all of your other design elements to make a very trendy creation. Truly a work of art!
Thank you so much El! I do like to mix things, as you know I can use 4 stamp sets on one card! LOL! But collage is so much fun! I’m so glad you enjoyed the card! Have a great day! 🙂
Hi Justin! Great card…love all the different elements in it. Especially the sequins! 😉 I haven’t worked with cork yet, I’ll have to try that sometime. Great card! Enjoy your Saturday!
Hi Karen!
Thank you! I love to mix everything together! Sequins are fast becoming a staple embellishment! The adhesive cork sheet is nice to work with, I got mine at Lowes! LOL! Have wonderful Saturday! 🙂
Nicely done Justin…. gorgeous collage. So many elements and yet they all work so well together. Love the ampersand, neat idea.
I envy your 4 portions of fries….. Mmmmm. Hope the rest of the weekend is nice and warmer.
Thank you Louise! Love the cork! I got the entire Typeset Alphabet just for that ampersand! LOL! The fries were delicious! 🙂

It has been cold here in NY for way too long! I do pretty much use exclusively Stampin’ Up! We could definitely do a swap that would be fun! 🙂
