Paper Craft Crew 95

Posted on

Wednesday already! I could really get used to Tuesday being Monday! I’m very happy that you like the three cards from yesterday. As Linda said, we are our own worst critic! It was a little on the muggy side here yesterday and they said it was going to rain today so most of my windows in my apartment were shut. Needless to say it was 88 degrees in the house when I got home. That’s a little warm! There was an awards night at Taylor’s school last night. Taylor received an award for being a model student! She also got to present two awards to teachers that made a difference in her life. It was really neat idea. After the school I came home and just relaxed, it was way too hot to do anything else. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow but it’s also supposed to get a little cooler, no complaints there!

If it’s Wednesday that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS095 5-28-2014

A funky sketch indeed! I was a little puzzled when I first looked at it, I think once I got past the heart I was good! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Hello Honey embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the left and a piece of paper form the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack is on the right. The flower is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut out with my Paper Snips. After the leaves yesterday this was a breeze! LOL! That’s my favorite little bee from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set, he is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Hello Honey and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. The hello is from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I used the new Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. My little chevrons are Blackberry Bliss and they are cut out with one of the elements from the Circle Card Thinlits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the card. I love that flower and I’m really going to miss my little bee! There is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see the projects from the other designers and enter your card in the gallery, You may be chosen as a featured artisan! I hope you are enjoying the sneak peeks and my card. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and see what I’m up to! Have a great Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Wow what a great award for Taylor to receive. You must be very proud of her. Wonderful card today. Blackberry Bliss is just so darn rich and blends well with Hello Honey. The chevrons remind me of blinking neon arrows trying to capture your attention. They definitely caught my attention.

  2. Gore-G-Us card Justin. I’m starting to really love that Dahlia stamp and of course the Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey are so striking together. You did a fantastic job of paper snipping on the Dahlia and the entire card as a whole is just fabulous. You are on a role buddy! LOL

Congratulations to Taylor! She sounds like a very special young lady! Of course you were probably beaming so much that everyone knew who her Dad was! Seeing your children be rewarded for their hard work is such a heart warming thing for a parent.

    • Why thank you Grace! I have always loved the Dahlia stamp, great detail! I did have a good time making the card, it’s simple by the chevrons give it a little oomph!
Taylor is a good kid, I was quite proud of her! None of the kids at her school think I’m her dad, they think I’m her brother! LOL! Lucky me! 🙂

    • Hey Donna,
Thanks! Taylor did a great job and I thought it was a nice idea to award the teachers too. Thank you! I am a big fan of Blackberry Bliss too!
I’m very happy to hear that your drive back home was uneventful! I think you had enough going on on the way down to last for a few drives! It’s cool here, but I like that! WOW! Glad to hear that your bathroom is finished! I don’t enjoy any sort of disruption, I am definitely a creature of habit! I had a nice night and wish you a good day! 🙂
